Membership

Membership of our club is invitation only.  The pathway for anyone who is interested in taking rowing up or returning to it after time away are:

  1. A 'Come and Try Day' -  this is a fun and relaxed 3hour session where we give you the opportunity to get in a boat and gain a feel for the sport. By the end of this session you will hopefully love it and want to continue on to our Learn to Row Program. For people with previous experience this is the chance to come meet our members, look at our facilities and chat to the coaches and club captain about joining our club.
  2. The Learn to Row Program covers the basics of rowing for beginners and is a refresher for those returning to it after some time away. It is delivered over a number of sessions usually an introductory evening followed by four intensive sessions over two weekends.
  3. After all that, if you love rowing and like the idea of joining our club we have a Transition Program for new members. This involves one night or morning Ergo training and one morning on the water for another 8 weeks, after which you may become a member and join our regular squads. Membership to the club is by invitation only.

St Margaret's 'Old Girls' Discounted Membership Fee

We want to make it easy and accessible for Old Girls to continue with the sport, primarily for leisure, and continue their involvement in ‘the shed’ community. This is why we offer St Marg’s Old Girls an incentive to join our club after leaving school.

Old Girls joining within 3 years of leaving school can join for $300 (annual membership). This discounted membership (30% off normal student membership rate) applies until turning 22 years of age.

This membership entitles the girls to row on any day of the week, and as many times as they’d like, using Dragons Club facilities, and receive coaching once a fortnight (same as standard club membership).

We can support competition for members under the age of 27 at ‘Head of’ races and other regattas where Dragons are competing and there are ‘open’ age categories.

To enquire about an 'old girls' membership, contact dragonsclubcaptain@gmail.com.
