Welcome to Brisbane's Northside Master's Rowing Club
About us
We are a community of social and competetive Masters Rowers (over 27 years of age) and one of the few Rowing Club's located on Brisbane's North side. We offer a range of rowing programs for competetive, social, returning and new rowers. Under the direction of our committed Club Captains and qualified Coaches we can cater for all individuals who enjoy this physically and mentally challenging sport.
Our club holds the resources to offer:
- Scull and sweep oar rowing (Singles, Doubles, Pairs, Quads, Fours and Eights)
- A range of high quality boats, erg machines and training programs
- Despite our name, does not include kayaking or dragon boating.

Our history
Our Club has a relatively short history (we were founded in 1994) and has prospered through the hard work and energy of its passionate volunteer club members. We originated from a small group of parents from the St Margarets school, the same school in which we share a rowing shed facility on Sandgate Road, Albion today. On founding the club we were named the Dragons Rowing Club, this has influenced our rowing fleet to be each named after famous dragons. You may see the Saphira, Draco or Attor boats, 3 of many that venture out on the stretch of river between the Breakfast Creek and the Gateway Bridge or perhaps along the Powerhouse stretch up to New Farm Park. In early 2024 the Dragons Rowing Club members voted to change the name of the club due to many reasons, one being the assumption that the club is one of Dragon Boating.
Stay tuned for our new names unveiling!! In the meantime follow along on our IG page dragons_rowing_club and see our upcoming event's below.
Row on!
